Nexkey Smart Access System
Users: NexKey System Administrators, Tenant Admins, Operational Users and End Users
Secure Modular Architecture
The NexKey application is built on a robust, modular-based architecture that ensures both scalability and operational stability. By separating core functionalities—such as authentication, device unlocking, and user management—into independent modules, the system allows for rapid updates and seamless integration of new hardware features without affecting the overall application performance. This modularity also enhances security by isolating sensitive processes, such as cryptographic operations and credential storage, within dedicated components
Hybrid Intelligent Unlocking
The core functionality of the project centers on a hybrid unlocking system that provides users with flexible access options. For immediate, local access, the app utilizes a “Nearby Unlock” feature powered by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate directly with smart locks. For instances where remote access is required, the “Remote Unlock” module leverages Wi-Fi connectivity to grant entry from any location. This dual-path approach ensures that users maintain reliable access to their facilities regardless of their proximity to the physical hardware.
Comprehensive Access Management
NexKey streamlines facility oversight through its integrated administrative and sharing modules. Administrators can manage complex organizational structures by grouping locks and assigning specific access levels to different user segments. Furthermore, the digital “Key Sharing” module empowers users to issue secure, time-sensitive credentials to others, complete with customizable permissions. Every interaction is tracked through a real-time event logging system, providing a transparent audit trail that enhances the overall security and accountability of the connected environment.
